This area was originally founded as Pleasent Hill, Tennessee, but in 1881 the postmaster's wife reportedly suggested the name Red Bank after seeing the red clay along the bank of Stringer's Branch. Completely surrounded by the Chattanooga city limits, the city of Red Bank is only ten minutes from bustling downtown Chattanooga. It is conveniently located near a large retail center, quality health care facilities, fine dining.
